Later, as an adult who is accidentally raised by elves, Santa Claus allows him to go to New York to find his biological father, Walter Hobbes. Hobbs, on Santa’s bad list due to callousness, had no idea that Buddy was born at all. Meanwhile, friends experience the delight of New York (and human culture) as only an elf can. When Walter’s relationship with Buddy interferes with his business, he is forced to reconsider his priorities.
