Petrified Palm WoodAlso known as Palmoxylon. An extinct genus of palm found around the world. The plants lived from the Late Cretaceous (83 ma) until the Early Miocene (34 ma). The spotted look is caused by fossilized rod like structures within the original wood. The stone is 1 1 4 inch x 7 8 inch. The crown depth is 3 8 inch. Cabochon is hand cut and polished. Back of stone is not polished.
