It's a historical grape of the region that was largely abandoned because of its low yields in favour of the ubiquitous Sauvignon Blanc. Fi has a much broader, more textural profile and ripens with striking light purple skins. The vineyard is situated on the slopes down to the river Cher, here with particularly deep, well draining limestone gravel and just
the tannins are delicately extracted and this grippy texture persists well into the finish
Xarel-lo has been planted in recent years in the Roussillon as a grape that is able to withstand the unforgiving heat and minimal rainfall in the region
using no tillage in the vines where possible
