Sashiko Decorative Mat [B] - Sold out basketThis decorative mat is entirely covered with meticulous sashiko stitching on vintage Japanese textile. The motif is ganze zashi (also known as uni zashi) from Tobishima, Yamagata. The stitching was done in undyed thread and then overdyed with aizome (traditional Japanese natural indigo), allowing the pattern to settle softly into the fabric. Compared to stitching with indigo dyed thread, this process gives a more integrated and gentle appearance. The
