水月观音，是生命自在的嚮往，观音菩萨三十三法相之一。此佛像作品中，菩萨身佩璎珞，髪髻高束，头饰上戴有着小尊的阿弥陀佛，这也是以代表观音菩萨不忘师恩，念念提醒自己来娑婆世界的目的。菩萨盘坐于水波纹的岩石上，右腿支起，右臂放在右膝上，一般而言，这是形容水月观音时，比较常见的坐姿。水月在佛经中有深远的寓意，水中之月，非月的实体，代表有影无实，意指世间万物都是由因缘和合而成，本质皆属虚空，菩萨以觉者之身，且充满着智慧和慈爱之心，希望世间有情众生也都能了解宇宙万物的本质，放下执着，以自在之心，如意安然。底座的几何椭圆形，圆润光滑，线条流畅，如平静水面。而透过凹圆的切割，逐层变薄的弧度，在不同角度映衬不同的光，展现迷离而清透的效果，是令人沉醉的现代雕塑美学。琉璃材质的运用，使得水月观音中“水”的意象，不再是一个平面，由于光线和设计的巧妙结合，得以360°全方位的呈现，是水月观音造像的突破。
